Finally all the songs for the upcoming album have been rehearsed and fine-tuned, and it’s time to hit the studio. The drum-recordings will start on Wednesday 2nd of March, and the recordings of the rest of the instruments and the vocals will follow within the next couple of months. We will record a total of 10 songs. All the songs sound really good and we can’t wait to get them all recorded.

The year of 2010 is leaning to an end and it’s time to take a look back. We’ve had a great year. We released our debut EP ‘In Solitude’ and got loads of positive feedback. We’ve been playing a bunch of gigs and enjoyed every single one of them. It has been a blast!

So what will the year 2011 bring us? We’re glad to announce that we will start recording our debut album in March of 2011. In the last couple of months we’ve been writing a lot of new songs, and we’re really pleased with the outcome. The songs are really diverse, ranging from very melodic songs to heavier riff-oriented songs. We’re still in the process of laying down the finishing touches to the songs and about to start arranging the songs.

We will keep you updated through the whole album making process by posting news and videos. Expect more frequent updates when we hit the studio.

Shear will be performing at Dubrovnik, Helsinki, on Saturday the 11th of December. Second act for the night is Grendel. More info about the event at Facebook.

Shear has confirmed a new gig. We’ll be playing at Vernissa, Vantaa on Saturday the 20th of November. Other acts for the evening are Dead Shape Figure, Full Scale Conflict and Philadelphia Dynamite. Tickets cost 6 euros and 4 euros for VELMU members. Be there!

Shear will be performing at Semifinal, Helsinki on Friday 22nd of October. The evening will be a female-fronted band night. Other bands performing are Tacere and Dotma. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Tiketti or at the venue on the night of the performance.

Shear will be performing at the End of the Earth festival Saturday, 25th of September at Gloria, Helsinki.
