Shear has advanced to the semi-finals of Finland’s Wacken Metal Battle 2010. The winner of the competition will play in August at the Wacken Open Air 2010 festival. The semi-finals will take place in Torvi, Lahti, 10th of June.

A new gig has been confirmed. The gig will be on Saturday 17th of April at Vernissa, Vantaa. Other acts will be Mona Kills and Two-by-Four. Doors open at 20.00 and tickets are 5 euros. More information about the venue at VELMU site.

Furthermore, Classic Rock Magazine has chosen Shear’s In Solitude EP as the track of the day.

Due to the amazing amount of positive feedback, we decided to upload a new song to myspace – this is our way of saying thanks for the support guys! The new song is called ‘Scorched’ and is the second track from the In Solitude EP. Hope you enjoy it!

While we recorded our EP ‘In Solitude’ we managed to grab some video footage of the recordings . We decided that it might be fun to share it with you guys. Finally it is time for us to officially announce our lineup. The members of Shear have played in many familiar metal bands such as Amoral, Omnium Gatherum, Imperanon, Elenium and Crystal Blaze, which won the Finnish Wacken Metal Battle in 2007.
